Lots of Visitors Today
04/08/2013
Anabelle woke up several times during the early hours this morning. She just needed to be changed and vented (allow gas to escape from her peg tube) and then went right back to sleep. I didn’t have a problem falling back to sleep but decided after her last awake period at 7 a.m. that I would stay up and get ready for our expected visitors.
Anabelle’s paternal grandparents visited. It’s a little over a two hour drive for them. Granny is still recovering from her emergency appendectomy and is still sore. I take advantage of their visit and leave Anabelle in their care while I attend to some of my personal business. I am trying to schedule counseling for myself. Even though I feel strong, I know it is the healthy thing to do. I also took care of other pressing tasks that were weighing on me. I still have to a few more responsibilities tomorrow before I can breathe easier.
We had other visitors from Anabelle’s father’s side. They brought lunch from Parasol’s, a local café that has great po-boys. I got my usual fried shrimp po-boy with no tomatoes, add American cheese and fries. It was awesome! Our visitors have to drive back today and head out by 3 p.m. Anabelle takes a mini nap before we go for our stroller ride to the park. I am really too tired to go, but I feel I
tablespoons of karo in her feeding bag and I’m hoping this is the magic number that allows her to maintain proper balance with her lower GI elimination schedule. Ashley and I spent the evening taking turns holding her and seeing who could make her smile the most.
It’s getting late…11 p.m. and she is wide awake. Right now, she is in her baby swing facing me as I finish writing the blog. I have a ritual I do to get her to go to sleep, but I am saving it for when I finish the blog. She is so cute. I gave her a bath earlier and she is a little sleepy but is fighting it. At least she doesn’t seem to be hurting and for that I am grateful!
Good night
